Welcome to the Official Gary Giddins Website
Gary, long-time columnist for the Village Voice and unarguably the world's preeminent jazz critic, welcomes you to his site. Here you'll learn more about the man who's won an unparalleled six ASCAP–Deems Taylor Awards, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and a Peabody Award in Broadcasting, as well as a lifetime achievement award from the Jazz Journalists Association.
You'll be able to read some of his published essays on music, film, and American popular culture, as well as hear and see interviews he's given about topics as diverse as Ingmar Bergman, Bing Crosby and Spike Jones.
Gary's upcoming public appearances, new publications, and news on “works in progress” can also be found here. Welcome!
